Supported Products
Panguitch Tech provides service on the following products: laptop and desktop computers. Any product not listed may be serviced at the discretion of Panguitch Tech technicians, but ability to service is not guaranteed, either implicitly or explicitly. We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason at any time.
Free Estimates
Estimates and repairs will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
We provide free estimates on all standard supported products, however some non-standard devices might require a quoted estimate fee due to the difficult, time-consuming, or technical nature of diagnosing them. Estimates can typically be given in person and on the spot either by a manager or technician, but can occasionally take over 24 hours due to job volume, the specific problem, difficulty of estimate, and specialized nature of some devices. Over-the-phone estimates are non-binding. Any estimate given over the phone is intended for informational purposes only so that our customers can have some idea of what to expect, but unless we can see the device in our hands, we cannot offer an accurate or binding estimate.
While we try to be as thorough as possible with all estimates, we do not guarantee that our estimate is all-inclusive and final. Often, it is incredibly difficult or impossible to identify every problem affecting a device until some work is performed. Our estimates may evolve or change during the course of servicing your device. If our technicians need to update the estimate, we will let you know as soon as possible why it has changed, and request permission to continue the service. If there are ANY changes on your estimate, we will ALWAYS let you know immediately or as soon as possible, and all changes MUST be approved by you before we move on with any work! Our initial estimate will always remain valid within the scope of the services it was originally attached to, though we may advise you that the original service may have become unnecessary or unlikely to resolve the issue.
Virus Removal or Spyware/Malware/Ransomware Removal:
This work is warrantied for 30 days. In the event the user installs malicious software applications or visits known websites which can re-infect a computer desktop/laptop, the warranty is Void. A technician will verify these findings.
Due to the insidious nature of ransomware, Panguitch Tech may not be able to remove the malware. In such a case, we recommend restoring your computer from a backup (if you have one). We may refuse to service devices infected with ransomware.
Computer Hardware Repair Warranty:
Panguitch Tech offers a 30-day limited warranty on all computer parts which we sell you. In addition, this warranty includes the labor for the initial repair.
In the event that work completed on a system does not resolve the issue, the cost of the labor performed will be credited towards the next solution to resolve the issue. A Panguitch Tech technician will verify and approve all warranties. Furthermore, Panguitch Tech does not issue cash refunds.
Exceptions to Warranty:
This warranty does not cover any loss of business, profits, or other consequential damage, real or perceived, which may have resulted from any malfunction of the computer system. Also, it does not cover any hardware or software installed by the user.
In addition, damage from flood, earthquake, power surges/outages, fire/smoke, or other Acts of God/nature will not covered by warranty. The warranty will be void if a system becomes damaged from improper handling, liquid spills, inadequate ventilation, or neglect/abuse. Perusing websites which are known vectors of infection will void the warranty. Most noteworthy, Panguitch Tech reserves the right to determine if any alterations or if other damages will void the terms of the warranty.
Warranty Exclusions
We do not offer warranties or guarantees, explicit or implicit, on any of the following:
- Any service using parts not purchased through Panguitch Tech
- Any software issues, including virus removal
- New symptoms/issues not directly tied to the original service within the 30 day guarantee period
- Any parts or services provided by another repairman
Panguitch Tech will not install or warrant any software which has been identified by Panguitch Tech or the system/software manufacturer as being unlicensed, illegal, or pirated software. Panguitch Tech will also not reinstall such software for the client.
Installing new hardware or modifying existing hardware in the 30 day guarantee period voids the Panguitch Tech Warranty. This specifically includes removing the hardware under our warranty and replacing it with something else.
Recurrence of original symptoms or issues caused by user error or negligence in the 30 day guarantee period, including but not limited to physical damage (drops, crushing, exposure to temperature extremes), liquid damage (spills on and liquid immersion of the device), electrical damage (improper grounding, contact with poorly performing or damaged electrical networks), and damage caused through installation or use of harmful software components (viruses, malware, spyware), voids the Panguitch Tech Warranty.
NOTE: If your device is physically tampered with or damaged within the warranty period, the Panguitch Tech Limited Warranty is void. This includes but is not limited to cracked screens, dents to the casing, internal damage not present at time of original repair, attempts to open or modify the device, or any other action, accidental or intentional, which could cause our repair to fail.
Replacement Parts Procedure
If a service requires parts to complete, we will contact and inform you of the need prior to ordering any parts. We will explain the part needed, why it’s necessary, any associated costs, and give an estimate of when the part will likely arrive. Due to shipping times being beyond our control, our estimate is a best guess and is not intended to guarantee arrival by a specific time.
If you would like to hold on to your device until parts come in, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the cost of the ordered parts will be required.
Any replacement parts not supplied by Panguitch Tech are not covered by any kind of warranty or guarantee except as might be provided by the part manufacturer. By providing your own parts, you acknowledge that you understand and agree that any work we provide is not covered by the Panguitch Tech Warranty or any other guarantee or assurance, explicit or implicit. You also agree to waive any liability for damage to your device caused by faulty parts or other part incompatibilities.
Equipment Storage and Handling
Due to storage concerns, we will hold on to devices for up to 90 days after we contact you to pick up your device. After that time, if we have not heard from you we will consider your device abandoned and it will become the property of Panguitch Tech. We cannot guarantee that your equipment will not be discarded after the initial 90 day period, so it is critical that you pick up your equipment on time or make arrangements with Panguitch Tech to store your equipment until you can pick it up.
We will follow Utah Law 38-2-4 regarding abandoned personal property with a repairman’s lien against it.
Payment
Panguitch Tech accepts all major credit cards and cash. We do not require upfront payment for estimates and diagnosis, except in the case of printers and projectors, and will not ask you for a deposit unless we need to order parts and you elect to hold on to your device until parts come in, or if we need to order specialized parts for data recovery services.
Payment is due at time of pick up.
Panguitch Tech does not accept checks or payment plans. Please have the full total due ready when you come to pick up your device.
Data
Here at Panguitch Tech, we will attempt to backup your data stored in commonly used locations on your computer such as your Desktop, Documents folder, Photos folder, and Music folder. We will not comb through every single folder on your computer to backup every possible file which we deem might be important to you.
Panguitch Tech does not guarantee the security or safety of your data. While we take every precaution possible to make sure the integrity of your data is unaffected, we cannot assume liability for any lost data as a result of services performed by Panguitch Tech.
If we are aware that a procedure may result in loss of data, we will inform you of the possibility, what data may be affected, and will offer to back your data up at an additional cost. However, due to the complex nature of electronic devices, we cannot predict in advance what may happen to your data in every situation. We strongly encourage you to back up any important files and documents before bringing your device in for service.
